The Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) has banned for three months Worldcoin, the crypto project co-founded by Sam Altman.

This action is part of the agency's ongoing investigation into Tools for Humanity Corporation, the lead developer of Worldcoin.

The company's business model involves collecting and using biometric data from individuals in exchange for cryptocurrencies.

The AEPD has stated in a press release it has received multiple complaints against Tools for Humanity Corporation, including concerns about insufficient information, the collection of data from minors and the inability to withdraw consent.

As a result, the agency has ordered the project to stop collecting and processing personal data and to cease using the data it has already collected.
