The approval or rejection of BlackRock and Fidelity's spot Ether exchange-traded funds (ETFs) by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has been delayed.
The regulator announced yesterday it will postpone its decision on applications for BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust and Fidelity's Ethereum Fund after an initial delay in January, when the SEC approved several Bitcoin ETFs.

The SEC has the option to delay its decision up to three times before making a final decision.
This delay was expected by market commentators and ETF experts, who believe the SEC will make a decision in May.
Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart stated on February 7 that VanEck's final Ethereum ETF filing deadline of May 23 is the most important date for Ethereum ETFs.
