BlackRock is ramping up its media advertising efforts for its Bitcoin-based exchange-traded fund (ETF), promoting the asset not as a currency but as a symbol of progress.
The ad, which shows a simple yellow silhouette of a runway and an airplane, presents the ETF as a tool for progress.
According to Eric Balchunas, ETF analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence, BlackRock's marketing approach hits the "sweet spot" between traditional and modern, targeting both boring legacy funds and younger users.
As the leading asset manager, BlackRock is on track to dominate the ETF market, so expanding its advertising efforts is a smart move.
Balchunas also noted BlackRock's ad highlights how its ETF standardizes Bitcoin, making it comparable to stocks and bonds.
