Report: Hackers Stole $1.7B from Crypto Platforms Last Year

According to a report published Wednesday by Chainalysis, the losses of cryptocurrency platforms resulting from hacker attacks last year amounted to around $1.7 billion, which is 54.3% less than in 2022.

Hacker attacks on cryptocurrency platforms have been a recurring problem for the crypto sector, as it is one of the main reasons why regulators around the world reject this type of assets.

Although the amount stolen has decreased, the number of attacks has actually increased, from 219 in 2022 to 231 last year.

The analysis firm has concluded hacker groups linked to North Korea have stolen around $1 billion, down from $1.7 billion the previous year.
