An unknown attacker has stolen millions of dollars from Taiwan-based cryptocurrency trading firm Kronos Research.
According to blockchain detective ZachXBT, the company may have lost around $25 million in Ethereum.
Representatives of Kronos have reported the attack has occurred through unauthorized access to API keys.
The company has suspended trading activity temporarily while the investigation continues. In addition, the service disruption has caused problems on the WOO X exchange, which was founded and is operated by Kronos.
Despite the attack, the platform has assured that users' funds have not been affected.
Representatives of the project have said:
"Since Kronos Research is the primary liquidity provider for spot markets and around 40% for perpetual futures, we have temporarily paused trading across WOO X to protect users positions from a lack of liquidity."
