CBOE to Launch Margined Bitcoin and Ethereum Futures

CBOE intends to launch margined Bitcoin and Ethereum futures trading and clearing on January 11, 2024.

According to the press release, these contracts will allow investors to trade without posting the full collateral, providing greater capital efficiency compared to trading without margin.

The market makers for the instrument will be B2C2, BlockFills, CQG, Cumberland DRW, Jump Trading Group, Marex, StoneX Financial, Talos, Tastytrade, Trading Technologies and Wedbush.

The company has explained:

"Cboe Digital to become first US regulated crypto native exchange and clearinghouse to enable both spot and leveraged derivatives trading on a single platform."

The platform intends to add "physically delivered products at a later date, subject to regulatory approvals."

CBOE currently offers marginless futures trading for Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin and USDC.
