Jonathan Farnell, the chief executive of Binance UK, the UK subsidiary of cryptocurrency exchange Binance, has become the latest executive to leave the company.

According to UK corporate filings and Farnell's professional history on LinkedIn, Farnell resigned from his position at Binance Markets Limited at the end of September.

A Binance spokesperson has said:

"We’d like to thank Jonathan for his contributions and wish him all the best on his next challenge."

The news coincides with the regulatory pressure Binance is coming under both in the US, where it is embroiled in disputes with two regulators, and in the UK.

For example, the company recently stopped accepting new customer registration from the UK after new FCA regulations on crypto advertising came into force in the country.

Farnell had played a central role in Binance's efforts to become regulated in the UK. He joined the company back in 2021 from eToro, where he headed the compliance department.
