Crypto exchange Binance said in a blog post on October 16 that the platform has stopped accepting new registrations in the UK in order to comply with a new regulation that came into force in the UK on October 8.
According to the new legislation, overseas digital asset companies are not allowed to promote their crypto asset businesses in the country.
New registrations on the platform for UK users were suspended on Monday from 5 PM local time.
The company said existing British users who have completed their Investor Declaration and Appropriateness Test will still be able to access the services available, however, no new products or services will be made available to them during this interim period.
Binance has said it will continue to work to enter into a new partnership allowing it to promote its services in the country:
"We are working closely with the FCA to ensure that our users are not harmed by these developments and are looking to find another suitable FCA authorized firm to approve our financial promotions as soon as possible."
