Italian automaker Ferrari has just added digital assets as a payment method in the US, while users in Europe will have to wait until the first quarter of 2024.
According to Ferrari's commercial and marketing director Enrico Galliera, the decision has been made in response to requests from dealers and customers, many of whom have purchased cryptocurrencies.
According to him:
"Some are young investors who have built their fortunes around cryptocurrencies. Some others are more traditional investors, who want to diversify their portfolios."
Ferrari has teamed up with payment processing service BitPay, which will convert assets received into fiat money. Notably, the company will initially accept Bitcoin, Ethereum and USDC.
Galliera has noted:
"This will help us connect to people who are not necessarily our clients but might afford a Ferrari."
