Digital asset custody company Komainu has received a license from the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to offer its services in the country.

The license, which was granted on October 6, allows the company to provide crypto custody services in the UK, including collateral management through the Komainu Connect platform.

Nicolas Bertrand, CEO of the company, has said:

"The UK remains one of the most important hubs for financial technology and innovation that will spur the convergence of traditional and decentralized finance."

Komainu, which focuses on institutional investors, was founded in 2018 by Japanese bank Nomura, hardware wallet developer Ledger and investment firm CoinShares.

Komainu was chosen by UK law enforcement in 2021 as a service to store seized crypto assets.

The company received a full operating license from the Dubai Virtual Assets Authority in August.
