Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has just registered as a cryptocurrency exchange provider and custodian with the Bank of Spain, the country’s central bank.

As announced by the company on September 22, it "has registered as a cryptocurrency exchange and custodian wallet provider with the Bank of Spain."

According to Coinbase, this will allow it to offer all its products and services to retail and institutional users in Spain in full compliance with the local regulatory framework.

Nearly 30% of Spanish adults consider cryptos to be the future of finance, whereas cryptocurrencies are the second most popular payment method in the country, Coinbase has reported.

The registration in Spain is part of the company's plans to expand internationally due to the regulatory pressure it is facing in the US.
