The number of owners of at least 25 Bitcoin futures on CME between the months of April and June stood at a record 107, while for Ethereum the figure was 62, according to data provided by CME.
It should be noted that a standard contract for Bitcoin is equivalent to 5 BTC, and for Ethereum to 50 ETH.
Open interest for standard BTC futures in the first half of the year averaged 14,800 contracts, the highest level ever (+15% for 2022). For Bitcoin options, the figure reached a record 9,400 contracts (+175% by 2022).

According to the platform:
"Bitcoin futures institutional interest continued to increase throughout the quarter as investors sought regulated venues/products to hedge rising market volatility and manage risk and exposure."
Trading volumes have similarly grown, including both futures and options for the cryptocurrencies.
