Binance Will Not Remove Anonymous Tokens in the EU

Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has backtracked on its decision to remove privacy-focused tokens in France, Italy, Poland and Spain.

The platform had planned to remove Decred (DCR), Dash (DASH), Zcash (ZEC), Horizen (ZEN), PIVX (PIVX), Navcoin (NAV), Secret (SCRT), Verge (XVG) , Firo coins from the list (FIRO), Beam (BEAM), Monero (XMR) and MobileCoin (MOB) yesterday.

Binance has reported:

"After carefully considering feedback from our community and several projects, we have revised how we classify privacy coins on our platform to comply with EU-wide regulatory requirements."

Binance has clarified the exchange is registered in several EU jurisdictions and is "required" to follow local regulations that require to "be able to monitor transactions for coins listed on our platform."
