Management firms WisdomTree and Invesco have just filed applications with the SEC to launch BTC-based spot exchange-traded funds.

The firms sought to implement the initiative back in 2021.

To date, the US Securities and Exchange Commission has rejected all applications for approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs. The only exceptions are ProShares and Valkyrie Investments, which are based on Bitcoin futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

The WisdomTree Bitcoin Trust and Invesco Galaxy Bitcoin ETF could be listed in the rival CBOE.

Like BlackRock, which has previously applied to launch a Bitcoin ETF, in order to allay SEC fears about market manipulation, WisdomTree will consolidate price data from several exchanges.
