Ripple Acquires Pantera Capital's Stake in Bitstamp

Ripple Labs has acquired Pantera Capital's minority stake in crypto exchange Bitstamp as the US-based company expands its international presence.

According to Galaxy Research, which served as the exclusive financial advisor to Pantera, the deal was conducted in March 2023. However, its terms remain unclear. Ripple made no public comments on the matter.

Until 2018, Pantera Capital was the largest stakeholder in Bitstamp as the hedge fund backed the crypto exchange with $10 million in 2013. Later, the exchange was acquired by NXMH for undisclosed price. According to reports, Bitstamp valuation was around $400 million as of 2018.
