In an interview with The Telegraph, Cameron Winklevoss said the exchange has to "look elsewhere" given there are "so many headwinds right now in the US it's hard to get anything done there." Although Gemini doesn't plan to leave the US, the New York-based crypto exchange wants to have this option if and when it faces with "a hostile environment."

The report said the twins have already met officials at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Bank of England this week, however, no details were given on that meetings.

Gemini has already taken steps to diversify its business. As iHodl earlier reported, the exchange launched a new trading platform for non-US customers called Gemini Foundation. The new trading venture is aimed at the Asian market, including Singapore, Hong Kong, and Turkey.
