OpenAI Chief Executive, Sam Altman, is about to raise $100 million for his iris-scanning crypto project Worldcoin as the company is set to launch the product in the coming weeks.

As per a report from the Financial Times, Altman has been discussing the fresh capital round with the group of existing and new investors. However, terms of the funding remain undisclosed. It is also unclear when the company plans to announce the deal.
Founded in 2019, Worldcoin has raised a total of $125 million, bringing its valuation above the $3 billion mark. According to data from Crunchbase, the company received cash from 19 investors, including Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Multicoin Capital, Hashed and others.
