SI Tickets, a subsidiary of Sports Illustrated, has just launched Box Office, a Polygon-based NFT ticketing platform developed in conjunction with the team at ConsenSys.

According to the press release, with Box Office, organizers can "create, manage and promote a fully scalable, paid or free ticketed live sporting event" as NFTs.

The company has also introduced a "super ticket" feature. With this, attendees can scan an NFT for quick access, discounts and additional post-event content.

David Lane, CEO of SI Tickets, has said:

"Blockchain is the future of ticketing, and now owners, promoters, hosts and attendees have access to an advanced ticketing experience that transforms the antiquated barcode into engaging and collectible content."

According to the Box Office website, the service charges a fee of $1.4 and 3% of the cost to process each transaction.

The representatives of the project have also assured event organizers will receive royalties from the resale of tickets.
