Starbucks to Launch a New Collection of NFTs on the Polygon Network

Coffee shop chain Starbucks intends to launch a collection of NFTs dedicated to the company's first store, which opened in 1971 in Seattle.

According to the announcement on the marketplace Nifty Gateway:

"People from all over the map come to see this historic landmark for themselves, experiencing a sense of nostalgia and being part of something bigger. [...] With the Starbucks First Store Collection, you can own a piece of history."

The sale of 5,000 digital collectibles on Polygon's network begins today, April 19.

Owners of two or more Journey Stamps NFTs issued by the company as part of the Web3 initiative Odyssey will receive early access. Starbucks First Store pricing is set at $100 per token.

The coffee chain last month introduced a collection of NFTs called the Siren Collection. It sold 2,000 "digital tokens" in less than 20 minutes at $100 each. The current base price of the assets is $494.

Sportswear brand Adidas has recently expanded its ecosystem of NFTs Into The Metaverse with the launch of the ALTS by Adidas collection.
