The South Korean authorities have arrested several employees of South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Coinone for alleged bribery.

South Korean police have reportedly detained the head of the platform's listing team Kim Mo and listing broker Hwang Mo.

Hwang reportedly paid 2 billion won (about $1.51 million) to Kim and other exchange executives in exchange for listing certain digital assets.

Among the "exchangeable" currencies was the cryptocurrency Furiever Coin, which was traded exclusively on Coinone. Law enforcement has linked the token to the recent murder of a woman in Seoul.

According to investigators, the crime may have occurred due to failed investments.
