The BlockSec team has intercepted a 100 ETH transaction from a hacker of user @0xsifu's wallet during the SushiSwap exploit and returned the funds.

Last Sunday, the decentralized protocol was attacked through a vulnerability in the RouteProcessor2 smart contract, which is used to route the trade.

According to PeckShield, the losses of @0xsifu (this nickname allegedly hides the co-founder of bankrupt Canadian exchange QuadrigaCX Michael Patryn) as a result of the exploit amounted to 1,800 ETH.

BlockSec has said:

"Our system immediately detected the attack attempt to @0xsifu and rescued some funds. Unfortunately, some other funds cannot be rescued."

A white hacker under the pseudonym Trust has stated he was the first to discover the possibility of an attack, but unknown persons took advantage of his vector and beat him to it, actively using MEV bots.
