Swiss Gov't-owned Bank PostFinance Launches Crypto Services

Swiss financial institution PostFinance made it possible for its clients to buy, sell and store digital assets thanks to a new partnership with the local crypto-friendly bank Sygnum Bank.

In a statement published on Wednesday, Sygnum said it will be offering services to PostFinance's customers through a b2b banking platform. Philipp Merkt, Chief Investment Officer of PostFinance, says crypto has become an "integral part of the financial world," adding that the bank decided to expand its services due to customers' demand.

Founded in 1906, PostFinance is the fifth-largest retail financial institution in Switzerland. The bank is fully-owned by the Swiss government.
