American provider of analytical software MicroStrategy (NASDAQ: MSTR) has purchased an additional 1,045 BTC for almost $30 million, bringing the total amount of reserves to 140,000 BTC.

According to a regulatory filing, the Tysons-headquartered company bought the crypto between March 24 and April 4 at an average price of $28,016. With the latest purchase, the company is now holding 140,000 BTC (nearly $4 billion as of press time).
In late September last year, MicroStrategy started developing a new Software-as-a-Service platform on Bitcoin's Lightning Network. Although details are yet to be revealed, the company was seeking a software engineer to build a Lightning Network-based platform for eCommerce use-cases.
