Microsoft Edge Tests Built-in Crypto Wallet: Report

Microsoft is allegedly working on a built-in crypto wallet for its browser Microsoft Edge. According to screenshots published by a Twitter user @thebookisclosed, the wallet supports not only crypto, but also non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Users could swap, send (with support for ENS domains) and buy crypto through such third-party providers as Coinbase or MoonPay. According to BleepingComputer, Microsoft teamed up with ConsenSys to offer a built-in crypto swap feature between ERC-20 tokens.

Blockchain developers could also connect Edge's wallet to Ethereum's testnet Goerli. Moreover, the wallet will apparently function as a self-hosted platform as users could protect their password with a 12-word recovery phrase. A spokesperson for Microsoft told the media that the IT giant regularly tests "new features to explore new experiences for our customers."
