Robinhood Brings Self-Custody Crypto Wallet to iOS

Robinhood's self-custody crypto wallet dubbed Robinhood Wallet is now available for iOS devices in the Apple App Store.

The Menlo Park-based firm said in a blog announcement users can temporarily earn up to 5 USDC after transferring $10 worth of crypto from Robinhood Crypto, or 1 USDC after transferring $10 from another wallet or exchange.

Johann Kerbrat, General Manager at Robinhood Crypto, said the firm remains committed to its mission to be the "most trusted, lowest cost, and easiest to use on-ramp to crypto."

Besides Layer-2 sidechain Polygon, Robinhood Wallet now also supports Ethereum and over 50 tokens based on ERC-20 standard, including stablecoins. Users can store, swap and send crypto in addition to collecting and managing non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Robinhood's Crypto-related Revenue Falls By 24%

Robinhood continues the development of its crypto services despite scrutiny from regulators and the bear market. In its latest 10-K filing, the brokerage firm said it had received an "investigative subpoena from the SEC" regarding "cryptocurrency listings, custody of cryptocurrencies, and platform operations."

In addition to SEC, Robinhood added it had also received similar requests from the California Attorney General's office.
