Crypto exchange Binance and credit card company Ingenico have just launched a pilot program to process cryptocurrency payments through Binance Pay.

In a first stage, the option will be reportedly tested on Ingenico Axium payment terminals in France at cocktail bar Le Carlie and women's clothing store Miss Opéra.

Users will be able to pay via more than 50 cryptocurrencies. Initially, merchants will be paid in digital assets and, from the second quarter of 2023, an additional solution will allow them to convert funds to fiat.

The program will expand in the future to European countries where Binance is licensed to operate, including Italy, Lithuania, Spain, Cyprus, Poland and Sweden.

Binance, in partnership with payments giant Mastercard, announced in late January it plans to issue a prepaid card in Brazil.
