According to reports, the original drawing was made by Easy Drawing Tutorial, a company which provides drawing tutorials, in April 2021. Greg Solano, the Co-Founder of Yuga Labs, wrote in a tweet that the Miami-based firm has already "reached out to the freelancer we hired for that design and Easy Drawing Guides."

"We'll be changing the logo and updating it on our site / ask marketplaces to change as well."

Yuga Labs Co-Founder Wylie Aronow Steps Down

Easy Drawing Tutorial took to Twitter to confirm that Yuga Labs "doesn't have a license to the wolf skull drawing." The company emphasized that the IP rights for the drawing belong only to Easy Drawing Tutorial as it's protected by terms and conditions.

Bored Ape Kennel Club is a free NFT collection of 9,602 cartoon animals distributed between holders of the Bored Ape Yacht Club on the Ethereum blockchain. As of press time, the collection's market capitalization is at $134.3 million, according to data from CoinGecko.
