Charles Munger, vice chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, has called anyone who disagrees with his position on the need to ban cryptocurrencies an "idiot" at the Daily Journal's annual shareholder meeting, MarketWatch has reported.

He has said:

"I’m not proud of my country for allowing this crap. It’s just ridiculous that anybody would buy this stuff."

"It’s no good. It’s crazy. It does nothing but harm, and it’s antisocial."

The Berkshire Hathaway vice chairman has previously urged US authorities to follow China's example and ban digital assets.

Munger compared Tesla and Bitcoin to "lice and fleas" in 2021, and also questioned BTC's ability to "become the global means of payment."
