Yuga Labs Co-Founder Wylie Aronow (also known as Gordon Goner) has left the NFT studio, citing congestive heart failure. In a Twitter thread, Aronow said that the condition is "progressing pretty fast," which is why he decided to leave the firm that made the well-known NFT collection Bored Ape Yacht Club.

Although Aronow has decided to leave the NFT studio to focus on his health, he noted that he would still function as a strategic advisor as well as a board member.
"I pushed myself way past my limits. I worked 12 hours a day, nearly every day. I should have taken the advice from everyone around me and sought balance. My goals now are to get the best medical treatment I can and heal," Aronow wrote.
Founded in 2021 by Greg Solano and Wylie Aronow, Yuga Labs raised a total sum of $450 million from 40 investors, according to data from Crunchbase. In October 2022, Bloomberg reported that the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) was investigating Yuga Labs for possible violation of securities law by selling non-fungible tokens. However, the regulator hasn't accused Yuga Labs of any wrongdoing so far.
