Bitcoin ATM Installations Plummeted in Second Half of 2022

According to data provided by Coin ATM Radar, the number of cryptocurrency ATMs worldwide increased by just 94 units in the second half of 2022 versus 4,169 in January-June.

The United States reportedly remains the leader in the number of Bitcoin ATMs installed with 33,945 (88%), while in second place is Canada with 2,652 units or 6.9% of the total. Notably, Spain is in third place with 275 (0.7%).

The leading manufacturer is BitAccess with 11,852 ATMs (30.7%), followed by General Bytes (9,159, 24.3%) and Genesis Coin (8,616, 22.4%).

The leading ATM operator is Bitcoin Depot, which operates 6,763 devices or 17.5% market share.

The drop in the rate of Bitcoin ATM installation began to be noticed in January last year.
