Morocco has just announced that the draft law aimed at regulating the crypto sector will be introduced "in the coming days."

The draft law will reportedly legally define cryptocurrencies in a rapidly growing market.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Morocco, Abdellatif Jouahiri, has today announced a series of discussions between the central bank and market participants.

The discussions will also involve regulatory bodies such as the Moroccan Capital Markets Authority (AMMC) and the Insurance and Social Security Supervisory Authority (ACAPS).

The country's central bank has collaborated with the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in the development of the document. In addition, the country's authorities have also contacted the central banks of France, Sweden and Switzerland to study their regulatory experience with digital assets.

The draft will provide a definition of cryptocurrency "adapted to the Moroccan context" and will aim to protect individuals without limiting innovation.
