Hackers Steal More than 200 BTC from Bitcoin Core Developer

Bitcoin Core developer Luke Dash Jr. has just reported that his PGP key has been compromised and he has lost a large amount of BTC.

It should be noted that he has not specified the amount he has lost. Dash has shared on Twitter a wallet address allegedly linked to the hack in which there is currently a total of 216.9 BTC. According to the information available, 4 transactions were made on December 31.

According to the developer, he has "no idea" how the attackers gained access to his key. Dash Jr. has explained he became aware of the attack after receiving emails from Coinbase and Kraken about login attempts on his account.

Changpeng Zhao, CEO of Binance, has said he has informed the exchange's security service to monitor what happened.

He has said:

"If there is anything else we can help with, please let us know. We deal with these often, and have Law Enforcement (LE) relationships worldwide."
