Dogecoin core developer, Michi Lumin, said in a tweet thread there are no plans to move the blockchain from Proof-of-Work to the Proof-of-Stake algorithm.

He added that those who "claim they 'know' what's going on in this matter have failed to even educate themselves on the concept of blockchain consensus."

Lumin went on saying that influencers, "even if they have millions of views" don't have the inside scoop on "what's going on with dogecoin."

"Just because one says a validation method is changing, doesn't mean it is," Lumin concluded.

In late September, Ethereum Co-Founder, Vitalik Buterin, said during the Mainnet conference that the Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism could be implemented by Dogecoin. Later, Cardano's developer, Charles Hoskinson, suggested transferring Dogecoin to his project's ecosystem.
