MicroStrategy, an American company that provides business intelligence services, has acquired another 2,500 BTC, bringing the total sum on its balance sheet to 132,500 BTC (~$4.03 billion).

The company said in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that it had bought 2,395 BTC for approximately $42.8 million in cash. Later, however, the company sold 704 BTC, but soon compensated the sale with the purchase of another 810 BTC. With the latest deal, an average purchase price is now around $30,390.

In late September, MicroStrategy started developing a new Software-as-a-Service platform on Bitcoin's Lightning Network. Although details are yet to be revealed, the company was seeking a software engineer to build a Lightning Network-based platform for eCommerce use-cases.
