Opera is doubling down on its Web3 browser with a new feature that allows users to mint non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

As part of an agreement with Alteon.io, an ecosystem for content creators, users will be able to create and upload an NFT on a blockchain with any media file they have. Opera says that the upcoming feature "democratizes NFTs, empowering artists of all backgrounds to connect to the Web3 creator economy." The so-called Alteon LaunchPad is scheduled to be available in Q1, 2023.
The move comes after the Norwegian company added support for MetaMask and other leading crypto wallets to its Opera Crypto Browser on the eve of The Merge update on Ethereum. According to the company, users can now select the wallet directly in the address bar using the Wallet Selector feature.
