Huobi Denies it Will Merge with Poloniex

Cryptocurrency exchange Huobi, which recently announced a name change, has said it has no intention to merge with Poloniex.

According to the platform, this information is "categorically false" and the companies operate independently of each other.

Journalist Colin Wu reported last November 25 about a possible merger, citing his own sources. Tron founder Justin Sun denied the information, but did not rule out that this could happen in the future.

The entrepreneur acquired Poloniex as part of an investor group in 2019. Sun initially denied any involvement in the deal.

In October this year, Huobi Global agreed to sell a majority stake in Hong Kong-based investment firm About Capital Management.
