In an announcement update, Meta said that users will soon have an "end-to-end toolkit" that allows digital creators to generate NFTs on Polygon, with more blockchains coming soon. The company said:

"People can easily support their favorite creators by buying their digital collectibles directly within Instagram. We’re testing these new features with a small group of creators in the US first, and hope to expand to more countries soon."

Besides the NFT minting feature, Instagram has also added support for showcasing digital collectibles built on Solana with the help of Phantom wallet.

Meta first announced support for NFTs in May this year, allowing select users in the US to showcase their NFTs built on Ethereum and Polygon. In addition to Phantom, Instagram also supports third-party wallets compatible for use, including Rainbow, MetaMask and Trust Wallet.
