Changpeng Zhao, CEO of crypto exchange Binance, has announced the National Bank of Kazakhstan (NBK) will test Binance's BNB blockchain to implement its own national digital currency (CBDC).

Binance received earlier this month a license in Kazakhstan to operate a digital asset platform and provide custody services based in the Astana International Financial Center.

The company's CEO has said:

"Since then, our team met with the First Deputy of the Governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan (NKB), Berik Sholpankulov, and the Head of Payment and Technological Center, Binur Zhalenov."

According to the latter, the issue of testing the integration of digital tenge into the BNB Chain has been discussed.

Zhao has not disclosed further details. A Binance spokesperson has said that discussion on specific use cases for the network is ongoing.
