Gavin Wood, Co-Founder of Polkadot, is leaving his role of CEO at Parity Technologies, a blockchain infrastructure company. Wood said in a blog post that the CEO role was "always going to be rather difficult to fulfil."

He will be replaced by Björn Wagner, who also co-founded Parity. Wood will remain in Parity as the company’s majority shareholder and retain a role of Chief Architect.
"It therefore means more time to focus on the stuff which I both enjoy and where I feel that I can deliver the most value to the company's mission," he added.
Parity was founded back in 2015 by Gavin Wood, Aeron Buchanan, TJ Saw, Ken Kappler and Jutta Steiner, while Björn Wagner joined in 2016. The London-based firm builds various Web3 solutions, including blockchain framework for Polkadot, a cryptocurrency ecosystem developed by Wood in 2016.
