Gemini's Cameron Winklevoss Steps Down as Gemini Europe Director

Cameron Winklevoss, Co-Founder of Gemini, has stepped down as Director of Gemini Europe, a subsidiary of the US-based exchange, according to a Companies House filing. The exchange made no comments regarding the matter at the time of writing.

In the meantime, Gillian Lynch, who was head of Ireland & Europe at Gemini, was appointed director on October 7, 2022.

In July, iHodl reported that Gemini laid off around 7% (or 68 people) in a rush to extremely cut costs. The news broke after an internal operating plan describing the changes in Gemini had appeared on Blind, an anonymous community app for the workplace.

The document reportedly demonstrated the company's efforts to decrease the staff size from 950 to about 800 employees.

Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss co-founded Gemini back in 2014. Besides Europe and the US, Gemini also offers services in Canada, the UK, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
