Facebook has become the latest social network giant to add support for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) as Meta is expanding its efforts in the blockchain area.

With the latest update, users can now post digital collectibles that they own across both Facebook and Instagram. Meta says the update will enable people to "connect their digital wallets once to either app in order to share their digital collectibles across both."

The move comes a few weeks after Meta expanded its support for non-fungible tokens on Instagram to the international level, adding 100 countries in Africa, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and the Americas.

Meta Files Trademark Applications for Cryptos and Wallets

Instagram started experimenting with NFTs in May this year. In the long run, the California-based company also wants to develop a prototype platform to enable the issuance of these digital assets.
