AntPool to Stop Supporting Ethereum After The Merge

AntPool, one of the largest's cryptocurrency mining pool, will suspend its support for Ethereum once the network will finish its transition from Proof-of-Work to Proof-of-Stake.

The company said in a blog post that it will continue providing Ethash mining pool services for users who "plan to keep mining Ethash tokens like ETC, and will make every effort to ensure hash power stability and asset security." The company added:

"As one of the largest PoW mining pools in the world, AntPool advocates decentralized PoW consensus by Satoshi Nakamoto, and fully supports BTC, ETC and other PoWs tokens."

In July, AntPool invested $10 million in the Ethereum Classic (ETC) ecosystem. AntPool CEO, Leon Lv, said during the World Digital Mining Summit 2022 conference that the pool plans to increase the volume of investments in the future.
