Hackers Steal Millions of Dollars from 8,000 Solana-based Wallets

Some hackers have gained access to the funds of owners of Solana protocol-based wallets and have stolen millions of dollars.

According to blockchain auditor OtterSec, more than 5,000 Solana wallets have lost their funds in a matter of hours. The transactions have been signed by the owners, which, according to the researcher, suggests the private key has been compromised.

PeckShield specialists believe users have lost around $8 million.

According to some reports, wallets that have been inactive for more than six months have been targeted by hackers.

The attack has affected Trust Wallet, Phantom and Slope wallets. Solana has strongly encouraged users to transfer funds to hardware wallets.

The hackers have apparently exploited a vulnerability to carry out the attacks.
