Bitstamp Receives Authorization to Operate in Italy

Italian regulator OAM has authorized crypto exchange Bitstamp to offer its services to the country's residents.

Jean-Baptiste Graftieaux, CEO of the platform, has said:

"Italy is among the most important markets in Europe, and we are thrilled to provide its citizens with a safe and secure way to trade cryptocurrencies."

According to him, the license from the local regulator is part of the platform's global plans "to offer services across Europe and around the world."

The regulator has said Bitstamp is included in the register of service providers in the digital asset market. The platform's Italian office is located in Milan.

The OAM has also issued this month a license to operate in Italy to crypto platform Crypto.com, whereas it has previously done the same for Coinbase and Binance.
