The Boring Company is now accepting the meme altcoin dogecoin (DOGE) as a payment method for rides on Loop, an underground transit system in Las Vegas, CNN reports.

Initially, the cryptocurrency is accepted outside the Las Vegas Convention Center, which has three stops. Later, The Boring Company plans to expand to more than 50 stations on the Vegas Strip. The single ride costs $1.50, while the day pass cost $2.50.

Those who don't want to pay with DOGE can use a traditional credit card or US dollars. As of press time, DOGE is trading at $0.06854.

The move comes despite a lawsuit that was filed by US investor Keith Johnson against SpaceX and Tesla, as well as their CEO Elon Musk, for promoting the "crypto pyramid" dogecoin (DOGE). The plaintiff is seeking $258 billion in damages.
