OpenSea Alarms Over Potential Email Phishing Attacks

NFT marketplace OpenSea has warned its clients there might be email phishing attacks on the horizon, as some employee of Customer.io (used by OpenSea for email distribution) misused employee access to download and share email addresses with an unknown third-party.

The company said in a blog post that those who have shared email with OpenSea in the past, "should assume" they were impacted.

"We are working with Customer.io in their ongoing investigation, and we have reported this incident to law enforcement," the company added.

Although OpenSea declined to elaborate on how many emails might have been potentially affected, the marketplace said users should be aware that malicious actors may try to contact them using an email address that looks visually similar to the company's official email domain.
