Premium automaker Bentley has just announced it intends to launch in September the limited collection of NFTs Genesis Bentley NFT.
The collection, which will be created by Bentley Design, will reportedly consist of a total of 208 tokens.
The number has not been chosen by chance, as 208 is both the speed limit on the Continental GT Speed model and the number of units manufactured of the iconic 1952 R-Type Continental.

The token delivery will reportedly take place on the Polygon network. The decision is in line with the company's commitment to achieve full carbon neutrality by 2030. The owners of NFTs from the Genesis Bentley NFT collection will receive exclusive rewards.
Alain Favey, a member of the company's board of directors, has said:
"Bentley customers are living their lives online, purchasing luxury goods with digital currency, and establishing businesses in the Metaverse. We’ve seen how NFTs have raised the profiles of both art and artist, and we believe the same can happen in the luxury automotive space."
Bentley plans to explore other use cases, including NFC, online gaming, metaverse applications and the adoption of blockchain technology across the enterprise.
