Ropsten, one of the oldest Ethereum test networks, is now working on the Proof-of-Stake algorithm as the ecosystem is moving toward the upgrade on the mainnet.

Tim Beiko, the Community Manager at Ethereum Foundation, said that the testnet has already registered a few transactions after the network moved to the new algorithm. He added:
"We do have some missing block proposals, which was a known issue before. Now, client teams will dig into the specifics across each combo expect a proper update by AllCoreDevs this Friday!"
However, Ropsten isn't the final testnet before the mainnet will undergo the major change. Parit Hosh, Validator Whisperer at the Ethereum Foundation, said that the Kiln testnet will likely be the last public testnet before the community should embrace for the final merge.
Earlier in January, the Ethereum ecosystem rebranded its terminology from "ETH 2.0" terminology into "consensus layer." According to a blog post, the developers decided to rebrand the ecosystem as its initial terminology created "a broken mental model for new users."
