Indonesian Crypto Exchange Pintu Raises $113M

Indonesian crypto exchange Pintu has just raised $113 million in a Series B funding round.

As reported in the press release, Pantera Capital, Lightspeed India Partners, Intudo Ventures and Northstar Group have taken part in the round.

The company intends to use the funds raised to further grow in Indonesia, develop DeFi services, NFT and expand its workforce to 200 people over the next two years.

Pintu, a crypto exchange that was founded in April 2020 and has 4 million users, is among the top 3 local trading platforms.

Pintu raised in May last year $6 million in a Series A funding round.

The Indonesian authorities announced in April they intend to introduce VAT and income tax on cryptocurrency trading.
