According to the report, the payments will be made with a link that Gucci will send via email to the customer. The link will direct customers to a QR code that allows them to execute the payment. The first Gucci's in the US that will accept crypto are following:
- Wooster Street in New York.
- Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles.
- Miami Design District.
- Phipps Plaza in Atlanta.
- The Shops at Crystals in Las Vegas.
In total, Gucci will support payments in over 10 cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin), ether (ETH), litecoin (LTC), dogecoin (DOGE) in addition to five stablecoins. Marco Bizzarri, Gucci President and CEO, said:
"Now that we are able to integrate cryptocurrencies within our payment system, it is a natural evolution for those customers who would like to have this option available to them."
In February this year, the popular Italian fashion brand purchased a virtual land in The Sandbox project's metaverse. With the land, the fashion brand wanted to create an interactive communication experience for its customers within the experiential space called "Gucci Vault."
